Divergent Trends Dominate Cuba's Informal Currency Market
The informal currency market in Cuba has seen divergent trends this Wednesday, August 5. The U.S. dollar remains stable at approximately 673 Cuban pesos (CUP) with no change from the previous day. This stability is a continuation of the past week and month, despite potential methodology adjustments.
The euro saw a slight increase, trading around 785 CUP, which is a 1.5 peso rise from the previous day's close. This represents a 0.2% increase, but over the past month, the euro has gained 19.5 pesos (+2.5%).
The MLC (Moneda Libremente Convertible) has seen a drop to around 452 CUP from yesterday's 482 CUP, which is a 30 peso decrease and a 6.2% decline. The limited data available for the MLC should be viewed cautiously.
