Dollar and Euro Exchange Rates Ease in Ukraine's Currency Markets
On August 13th, Ukraine's currency markets showed signs of easing tensions as the dollar and euro exchange rates ticked down. According to Mінфін, the cash-market dollar and euro quotes softened, with the US dollar's purchase price falling by 7 kopiykas and its sale price decreasing by 9 kopiykas. The euro dropped by 11 kopiykas on the buy side and by 12 kopiykas on the sell side.
The hryvnia was trading at 44.50-45.00 UAH per dollar, with the euro being bought at 51.32 UAH and sold at 51.96 UAH. At the currency auction, the dollar traded at 44.80-44.90 UAH, while the euro ranged from 51.70 to 51.90 UAH.
The interbank market also reflected these changes, with the dollar trading at 44.80-44.91 UAH and the euro at 51.78-51.80 UAH. These fluctuations may indicate shifts in supply and demand on Ukraine's foreign-exchange market, potentially influenced by economic factors such as monetary-policy adjustments or external pressures.
