Dollar Continues Climb as Fed Hikes Interest Rates
The US dollar has strengthened against the Vietnamese dong on the black market.
The value of the dollar rose by 0.19% to VND25,820 at unofficial exchange points, but remained unchanged at VND26,180 at Vietcombank.
This comes as the global dollar continues to hold a seven-week high after the Federal Reserve raised interest rates and signaled further hikes in the coming months.
The dollar's strength pushed the euro to $1.1463, near a seven-week low, while sterling remained flat at $1.3372 ahead of the Bank of England's meeting on Thursday.
