Dollar Dips Amid Global Currency Shifts

The US dollar weakened in late trading on Wednesday, with the dollar index decreasing by 0.08% to 99.595 at 15:00.

In New York trading, the euro fell to $1.1586 from $1.1590 in the previous session, and the British pound dropped to $1.3487 from $1.3514.

The dollar's performance was also reflected in its value against other major currencies: it bought 158.94 Japanese yen, lower than 160.20 yen of the previous session; climbed to 0.8133 Swiss francs from 0.8118 francs; and decreased to 1.3841 Canadian dollars from 1.3894.

The decline in the dollar's value was part of a broader trend, as international gold and silver prices closed higher on Wednesday. On the New York Mercantile Exchange, gold futures for December delivery gained 0.41% to settle at $4,414.60 per ounce, while silver futures rose 0.14% to close at $65.463 per ounce.
