Dollar Dives as Crude Oil and Financials Follow
The US dollar saw a decline on September 26th, trading at 100.835 as per the FXStreet report.
This unusual trend was observed when crude oil futures for October 26th dropped to 92.88, while financials showed a lower value for the 30-Year T-Bond by six ticks, now trading at 104.29.
The S&P 500 e-mini ES contract, however, experienced an increase of 76 ticks and was trading at 7786.00 on September 26th.
Gold futures saw a rise in value, with the December 26th Gold contract trading up at $4,330.80.
The divergence in market trends has raised questions about correlation between assets, as the US dollar's decline was accompanied by a drop in crude oil prices and lower financials values.
However, the relationship between gold and the US dollar appears to be inversely correlated, with gold's value increasing when the US dollar declines.
