Dollar Edges Higher Against Euro on Strong US Inflation Data
The US dollar rose against major peers, including the euro and Swiss franc, after data showed higher consumer prices in August.
A report from the Labor Department revealed that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased 0.4 per cent in August, following a 0.1 per cent rise in July.
In the 12 months through August, inflation advanced 3.4 per cent after rising by the same margin in July.
