Dollar Edges Up Against Dong as Global Markets See Pressure

The US dollar saw a slight increase against the Vietnamese dong on Tuesday morning. At Vietcombank, the dollar rose by 0.04% to VND26,210. In contrast, the black market saw the greenback decline by 0.31% to VND25,920.

Globally, the yen was under pressure due to a firm dollar on Tuesday as traders wagered on policymakers in Japan struggling to keep up with the hawkish turn taken by global central banks. This has left the country's interest rates at a wide gap with major peers, according to Reuters.

The broader financial markets were buoyed by falling oil prices, and other currency pairs remained mostly steady. The euro traded at $1.1467, while cryptocurrencies rallied in the past day, pushing bitcoin above $87,000, an eight-month high.
