Dollar Falls Amid Base Metals Market Volatility
The US dollar index fell by 0.01% to 99.13 in overnight trading, while the base metals market showed mixed performance.
LME aluminum and LME nickel declined along with SHFE zinc and SHFE nickel, with SHFE zinc leading the declines at a drop of 1.02%. However, gains were seen in other metals such as LME tin which rose by 0.77% and LME copper which increased by 0.52%.
In ferrous metals, stainless steel fell by 0.99%, while rebar and iron ore rose together with rebar increasing by 0.78% and iron ore by 0.7%. Coking coal also saw an increase of 1.88% and coke rose by 1.35%.
In precious metals, COMEX gold rose by 0.03%, while SHFE silver increased by 1.35% in contrast to SHFE gold which fell by 0.18%.
