Dollar Falls as Oil Prices Cool, But Remains Poised for Weekly Gain
The US dollar fell on Friday but remains poised for its second consecutive weekly gain due to rising bets on rate hikes. The greenback's decline was also influenced by moderating wagers on Federal Reserve rate increases following a decrease in energy prices.
However, the dollar index climbed to a two-month high on Thursday and is set for its first back-to-back weekly increase since June.
The euro rose 0.2% to $1.141 as energy prices fell, but was on track for a third weekly decline after touching a two-month low on Thursday.
