Dollar Gains Capped by Central Bank Tightening
Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) points out that the US dollar is currently being bolstered by widening interest rate differentials between the US and other G6 countries, as well as rising longer-term US real yields.
These dynamics are favoring the greenback, with the strong foreign demand for US securities also underpinning the currency.
However, BBH notes that tightening by other major central banks is reducing policy divergence with the Federal Reserve, which could cap gains in the DXY index.
