Dollar Gains Strength Amid Global Bond Yields Surge

The US dollar has regained its footing as investors increasingly view it as a safe-haven asset. This shift is largely due to rising global bond yields, which have reached their highest levels since 2008.

According to Barclays, the main driver of the rise in bond yields is the market's growing expectation that central bank interest rates will remain higher over the long term.

The European Central Bank has already turned to monetary tightening and is prepared to do so again in September. The Federal Reserve could follow suit.
