Dollar Hits Record High Against Hryvnia at 45.05 UAH
The official exchange rate of the U.S. dollar in Ukraine has hit a new record high, surpassing 45 hryvnias for the first time. The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) set the rate at 45.05 UAH per dollar on October 6, marking a 7 kopecks increase from the previous day.
This new high follows a steady rise, with the dollar trading at 44.98 UAH just the day before on October 5. The NBU's official rate is used for settlements and accounting, though cash exchange rates at banks and currency offices may differ.
Meanwhile, the euro moved in the opposite direction, with its exchange rate dropping by 5 kopecks to 50.48 UAH on October 6.
The NBU’s latest update comes amid concerns that Ukraine may need to print money to cover its budget deficit.
