Dollar Hovers Near Two-Month High Amid Data-Heavy Week Ahead
The US dollar continued its upward trend on Monday, hovering near its two-month high despite being on the defensive. The euro slipped to $1.1386, a level close to its two-month lows against the greenback. This decline marks a 2% drop for the euro in September.
Sterling remained steady at $1.3247, holding near its three-month low after Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey emphasized the need for a rate hike warning.
The dollar index eased slightly to 101.12 but was still poised for a 1.7% gain this month, its best performance since June. The yen fell by 0.3% at 157.7 per dollar.
