Dollar Index Climbs 0.23% as Euro and Pound Fall
The U.S. dollar saw an uptick in late trading on Tuesday, with the dollar index rising by 0.23% to 99.616.
This increase comes after the euro and British pound both lost value against the greenback in New York trading. The euro fell to 1.1543 U.S. dollars from 1.1557 dollars in the previous session, while the British pound dropped to 1.3481 dollars from 1.3511 U.S. dollars.
The dollar's strength was also evident against other major currencies, with it buying 155.09 Japanese yen, 0.8185 Swiss francs, and 1.3917 Canadian dollars.
