Dollar Index Falls 0.31 Percent

The US dollar weakened in late trading on Friday, falling 0.31% to 100.971 according to the dollar index.

The greenback's decline was reflected in its value against several major currencies: the euro rose to $1.1399 from $1.1374 in the previous session, and the British pound advanced to $1.3252 from $1.3217.

The US dollar also lost ground against the Japanese yen, falling to 157.13 yen from 158.85 yen. It gained slightly against the Canadian dollar, increasing to $1.4144 from $1.4141.
