Dollar Index Ticks Down as US Dollar Weakens Against Major Currencies
The US dollar weakened in late trading on Monday, falling against several major currencies.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, dropped 0.27% to 98.914 at 15:00 (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro rose to $1.1624 from $1.1611 in the previous session, and the British pound advanced to $1.3542 from $1.3514.
The US dollar also declined against the Japanese yen, buying 154.34 yen compared to 156.22 yen in the previous session, and lost value against the Swiss franc and Canadian dollar.
