Dollar Rallies Against Franc as Energy Concerns Drive Interest Rate Hike
The U.S. dollar has gained significantly against the Swiss franc due to higher interest rates in America, driven by energy concerns and tensions between the United States and Iran. With a rate gap strongly favoring the dollar, investors are focusing on potential energy inflation worldwide, which is pushing up rates globally.
According to recent data, the Federal Reserve's target range is at 3.75%, 4.00%, while the Swiss National Bank (SNB) maintains a policy rate of 0%. The SNB has also expressed its willingness to intervene in foreign exchange markets as necessary to ensure appropriate monetary conditions.
The dollar has reclaimed its strength, with the USD/CHF pair targeting the 0.83 level. This comes after it broke away from the 0.82 mark, indicating a possible continuation of the bullish trend.
