Dollar Reaches Upper 154 Yen Range Amid Rising US Yields
The US dollar rose to an upper range of 154 yen against the Japanese currency in Tokyo foreign exchange trading on the 15th, driven by rising U.S. long-term interest rates.
Rising long-term yields attracted dollar buying, but selling on rallies thickened as the pair neared the psychological threshold of 155 yen, keeping upside momentum in check.
The dollar was quoted at 154.73-74 yen at 2:00 p.m., up 34 sen from the previous day's 5:00 p.m. level.
