Dollar Slips as US Pauses Strikes on Iran
The US dollar declined in early Asian trading after the United States paused its weekend strikes on Iran, leading to a decrease in oil prices and a calming of markets.
Brent crude fell by 4.7% to $92.19, while the Dollar Index (DXY) dipped 0.25% to 101.23 as some 'safe-haven' demand for dollars eased.
The greenback softened against major currencies, dropping 0.2% to 163.585 yen, and rising about 0.2% to $1.1397 euro and $1.3353 British pound; the Australian and New Zealand dollars also edged up.
