The US dollar made a significant gain on Friday after the release of employment data for August. According to the figures, employers added 162,000 jobs in the month, far exceeding the expected 56,000 additions.

This positive news came as a welcome relief after July's unexpected decline of 23,000 jobs. The unemployment rate remained steady at 4.1%.

The dollar index, which tracks the greenback against a basket of currencies including the yen and the euro, rose by 0.37% to 99.33. The euro weakened against the dollar, down 0.28% at $1.1592, while the Japanese yen lost ground, decreasing by 0.41% to 156.45 per dollar.
