Dollar Soars Past Multiple-Month Highs Amid Oil Price Volatility and Rising Yields
The US dollar has continued its upward trend, reaching multiple-month highs against major currencies. This surge is attributed to volatile oil prices and rapid increases in US Treasury yields. The euro, in particular, has taken a hit, dropping by 0.24% to $1.1344 and reaching a three-month low.
The currency's struggles can be linked to the ongoing global energy shock and growing political risks in Europe. If it falls further, it would reach its lowest point in over a year since late June.
Meanwhile, the Aussie has also seen a decline as traders interpreted a recent rate hike as having a dovish tone. This shift in market sentiment has contributed to the dollar's continued rise.
