Dollar Stable, Euro Rises in Cuban Informal Market on September 15
The informal currency market in Cuba is closed on Tuesday, September 15, with mixed behavior. The US dollar remains stable at 698 Cuban pesos (CUP), unchanged from the previous session and last month's opening value of 664 CUP.
The euro, however, experiences a moderate increase to 795 CUP, one peso above its previous closing value. This represents an upward trend over the past week and month, with gains of 17.5 and 35 pesos respectively.
The MLC (a reference rate used by state-run stores) is around 537 CUP, a 27.5-peso increase from the previous day's closing value. The official exchange rates for the Central Bank of Cuba remain significantly below the informal market rates, at 659 CUP per dollar and 761 CUP per euro.
