The US dollar remained steady in early Asian trading on August 28, holding near its one-week high against major currencies.

Investors are eagerly awaiting Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's speech at the Jackson Hole symposium in Wyoming, which could provide valuable insights into his approach to monetary policy and potential signals about curbing inflation.

The dollar index, a measure of the currency against six major currencies, stood at 99.13, having risen by 0.3% for the week.

Major currencies like the euro ($1.1652) and pound sterling ($1.3597) were trading near one-week lows against the dollar but were poised to post a second consecutive monthly gain.
