Dollar Steadies Amid Expectations of Further Rate Hikes
The dollar index has steadied around 100.2 on Monday after surging last week following the Federal Reserve's interest rate hike and signal for at least one additional increase this year.
This move comes as investors await several appearances by Fed officials, including Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari and New York Fed President John Williams, to gain further insight into monetary policy.
Kashkari emphasized that inflation remains too high and has spread beyond the initial oil-price shock linked to the Iran war. Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee is set to speak later Monday.
