Dollar Steady, Euro Falls in Cuba's Informal Market
The informal currency market in Cuba has opened for the week with little change. The US dollar remains steady at 673 Cuban pesos (CUP), while the euro experiences a new drop, now trading at 778 CUP.
According to recent data, the dollar started this Sunday at the same price as last Sunday and is only 5 pesos higher than it was 30 days ago, representing a 0.7% gain. In contrast, the euro has decreased by 4.5 pesos compared to yesterday's rate and is 7.5 pesos lower than its level seven days ago.
The Free Convertible Currency (MLC) hovers around 450 CUP, with no significant changes over the past few days or weeks. The MLC's stability extends beyond this week, as it has remained relatively consistent for the last month.
