Dollar Surpasses 45 Hryvnias Mark for First Time
The U.S. dollar has surpassed the 45 hryvnia mark for the first time in history, reaching a new high as of October 6, 2026. The euro, meanwhile, has seen a decline in value, moving in the opposite direction of the dollar's rise.
According to the Minfin portal, the average exchange rate for the dollar at currency exchange offices is 45 hryvnias for buying and 44.85 hryvnias for selling. The euro, however, has dropped by 25 kopecks for buying and 15 kopecks for selling, now standing at 50.95 and 50.65 hryvnias respectively.
Banks are reflecting similar trends. The average buying rate for the dollar at banks is 45.28 hryvnias, while the selling rate is 44.74 hryvnias. The euro can be bought at banks for 50.95 hryvnias and sold for 50.24 hryvnias. Major banks like PrivatBank, Oschadbank, PUMB, and Monobank have also adjusted their rates accordingly, with slight variations in buying and selling prices.
Additionally, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has imposed a fine of 16.5 million hryvnias on the payment company iPay, though this appears unrelated to the currency fluctuations.
