Dollar Takes Breather But Remains Ahead of Second Weekly Gain
The US dollar slipped on Friday but remains on track to record its second consecutive weekly gain due to rising bets of rate hikes.
This comes as the yen rallied after Japan confirmed that Tokyo and Washington remain committed to the stance behind their joint intervention in July, which pushed up the currency's value.
The euro, meanwhile, rose 0.1% to $1.139 but is set for a third weekly decline after touching a two-month low on Thursday.
