Dollar Weakness Persists Amid Treasury Buybacks and Global Economic Growth
The US Dollar Index (DXY) closed at around 98.80 on Friday, near its lowest level since May, as the Treasury's decision to double bond buybacks weighed on yields.
Despite strong economic growth in the US, the dollar has struggled to gain momentum, with flash PMI surveys indicating accelerating activity.
Risk assets held firm, however, with gold reaching a three-month peak above $4,600 and AUD/USD rising to a multi-month high near 0.7170.
