Dow Jones Futures Tumble Amid Oil Price Surge and Treasury Yield Hikes
Dow Jones futures declined on Monday, with losses ranging from 0.35% to 0.97%, as oil prices and US Treasury yields continued their upward trajectory.
The Dow Jones fell to trade near 51,970, while the S&P 500 futures dropped by 0.47% to around 7,770, and Nasdaq 100 futures lost 0.97% to trade near 30,590.
The price increases in oil and Treasury yields have intensified global inflation concerns, fueling expectations of a tighter monetary policy stance from the Federal Reserve.
Cleveland Fed President Beth Hammack warned against allowing elevated prices as normal, while Philadelphia Fed President Anna Paulson signaled that modest additional tightening might still be required.
