Eby Must Seek New Mandate as Trump Trade War Threatens B.C.'s Economy

The trade war between Canada and the United States has left British Columbia's economy at risk, with at least 11,000 jobs and $3.8 billion in exports threatened.

Economist Trevor Tombe estimates that B.C.'s exposure to tariffs is as high as 13.7% of total exports, surpassing any other province.

With the situation becoming increasingly dire, Premier David Eby has been urged to seek a new mandate from British Columbians in order to address this crisis.

This would involve bold actions such as accelerating major infrastructure projects and increasing government spending to support people and businesses.
