Eby Promises to Cut Deficit with Economic Growth
B.C. NDP Leader David Eby has pledged to reduce the province's multibillion-dollar deficit by growing the economy and cutting wasteful spending.
Eby made the announcement while campaigning in Prince Rupert, where he also outlined plans to double the export of critical minerals and expand the local port to make it Canada's second-largest harbour by 2030.
This comes a day after B.C. Conservative interim leader Lorne Doerkson promised his party would not introduce new taxes or raise existing ones.
Eby claims that the Conservatives' plan doesn't add up, as they have said they would 'dramatically cut health care and education.'
