ECB Faces Lawsuit Over Alleged Leaks of Confidential Company Information
Luxembourg-based Rangecourt SA has filed a damages action against the European Central Bank (ECB) alleging that ECB officials leaked confidential supervisory information about the company to journalists and media outlets. The case, lodged on August 4, 2026, before the EU General Court as Case T-499/26, seeks a declaration that the ECB is liable for the damage allegedly caused by the disclosures.
Rangecourt is asking the court to order full reparation, including both non-material damages and measures aimed at establishing how the alleged leaks occurred. The company wants the ECB to disclose the circumstances surrounding the disclosures, including the identities of those responsible and the information leaked.
