ECB Policymaker Warns of Inflation Risks Amid Higher Oil Prices
European Central Bank policymaker Christodoulos Patsalides has sounded a warning about inflation risks, citing higher oil prices as a concern. Speaking during the European trading session on Wednesday, Patsalides noted that if oil prices persist at their current levels, inflationary pressures could accelerate.
Patsalides' comments come amid uncertainty over the monetary policy outlook. He expressed ambiguity regarding future data, stating 'We don't know how September data will be.'
The remarks had no immediate impact on the Euro (EUR), with EUR/USD trading marginally higher at around 1.1395 at press time.
