ECB Reports Moderate Growth in Euro Area Monetary Aggregates
The European Central Bank has released its latest monetary developments report for August 2026. The annual growth rate of broad monetary aggregate M3 stood at 3.5% in August, after a 3.4% increase in July.
The narrower monetary aggregate M1, which includes currency in circulation and overnight deposits, saw an annual growth rate decrease to 2.9% in August from 3.1% in July.
The adjusted loans to households maintained its unchanged rate of 3.1%, while the adjusted loans to non-financial corporations decreased to 4.2% in August from a 4.4% increase in July.
