ECB Reports Slightly Slowing Monetary Growth in Euro Area

The European Central Bank (ECB) released its latest monetary data for August 2026. The annual growth rate of the broad monetary aggregate M3 stood at 3.5% in August, following a 3.4% increase in July.

The narrower monetary aggregate M1, comprising currency in circulation and overnight deposits, saw a decrease to 2.9% in August from 3.1% in July.

Adjusted loans to households remained at 3.1% in August, unchanged from the previous month. However, adjusted loans to non-financial corporations decreased to 4.2% in August from 4.4% in July.
