ECB Representatives Meet with ECHR Judge over Financial Regulation
On September 17, 2026, Judge Raffaele Sabato of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) met with a group of representatives from the European Central Bank (ECB). The ECB delegation was led by Laura Fabiani and Christine Hauner, both heads of unit in Frankfurt.
Judge Sabato gave a presentation on how the ECHR regulates banking and finance in its case law. Anne Weber, senior legal advisor at GRECO, and Veronika Mets, head of unit at MONEYVAL, provided an overview of their organizations' work within the Council of Europe.
