ECB Seeks Participants for Digital Euro Experiments

The European Central Bank (ECB) is inviting companies, consumer groups, and public institutions to explore uses for a possible digital euro.

The ECB has opened two workstreams to test new payment features and explore how a digital euro could be used in everyday transactions.

The experiments are set to begin ahead of the ECB's 2027 timeline for a digital euro, with applications open until October 13.
