The European Central Bank (ECB) has unveiled ten design proposals for a new series of euro banknotes, seeking input from citizens across Europe.

The online survey, open until September 21, will allow people to shape the currency's face and help select a final proposal by late 2026.

ECB President Christine Lagarde emphasized that euro banknotes are more than just a means of payment, and the central bank wants to hear from the public on what they value.

The proposals focus on two themes: European Culture and Rivers and Birds. The former features famous Europeans like Ludwig van Beethoven and Marie Curie, while the latter highlights species such as the kingfisher and white stork.
