ECB Set to Launch New Euro Banknotes in 2030

The European Central Bank (ECB) is in the process of selecting new euro banknotes that will begin circulating in 2030. The selection process involved almost ten million people who voted for their favorite designs, with a participation rate of 2.6% of the eurozone population.

The survey aimed to gauge citizens' opinions on the new design of euro banknotes and demonstrated interest across age groups, particularly among younger generations, as two-thirds of responses came from people under 35.

The ECB has considered both surveys and recommendations presented by an independent jury responsible for the design competition. The chosen designs will be adapted and improved before becoming banknotes.
