ECB's Pontes Service Boosts Euro Demand in Digital Markets
The European Central Bank (ECB) has introduced a new service called Pontes, which allows banks and investors to settle blockchain-based transactions directly using euros backed by the ECB.
This move is expected to enhance official euro usage in digital finance ecosystems and may encourage demand for euros in tokenized markets.
The ECB will also invest a portion of its €23 billion own funds into blockchain-based, highly rated, euro-denominated debt issued by public institutions.
Currently, the Euro vs Colombian Peso (EUR/COP) is trading at COL$3,670, posting a daily rise of 0.66% on the session.
The pair remains positioned above its key short- and medium-term moving averages while still trading below the longer-term level, reflecting a near-term bias within a broader mixed structure.
