ECB's Proactive Stance on Inflation Boosts Euro

The European Central Bank (ECB) has taken a more proactive stance on inflation, and this is seen as a positive sign for the Euro. According to Michael Pfister at Commerzbank, several central banks, including the ECB, have already raised interest rates following the Iran conflict.

Some central banks, such as the Reserve Bank of Australia, had already raised rates before the conflict began due to pre-existing inflation risks. However, many others, like the ECB and the Bank of Japan, have followed suit since the start of the conflict.

Pfister notes that markets tend to reward central banks that react proactively rather than labeling shocks as transitory. This is a welcome change for the Euro, which has been disappointed by the ECB's lack of action in the past.
