Egyptian Pound Shows Mixed Performance Against Dollar and Euro
The Egyptian pound's performance against the dollar and euro showed mixed results at the end of this week's trading session, according to data from the Central Bank of Egypt.
On Thursday, the US dollar edged lower against the Egyptian pound at banks, declining by around 7 piastres during the session. However, despite this retreat, the dollar remained above the EGP 52 mark and posted an overall gain during the week, reflecting continued movements in Egypt's foreign-exchange market.
The euro, on the other hand, moved higher against the Egyptian pound at banks, extending its gains during the day's trading. The latest exchange rates published by the Central Bank of Egypt show the US dollar quoted at EGP 52.08 for buying and EGP 52.22 for selling, while the euro stood at EGP 59.77 for buying and EGP 59.94 for selling.
