Ellis County Unemployment Rate Climbs as Kansas Adds 1900 Jobs

The unemployment rate in Ellis County, Kansas, saw a slight increase to 3.7% in August, up by 0.1% from July and 0.2% from June, according to preliminary estimates from the Labor Market Information (LMI) division of the Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for the state of Kansas remained unchanged at 3.8% in August, after experiencing no change from July.

Total nonfarm payroll employment in Kansas increased by 1,900 jobs from July, with private sector jobs up by 1,700 and government jobs increasing by 200.
