EU Central Bank Seeks Participants for Digital Euro Experiments
The European Central Bank (ECB) has launched two workstreams to explore the potential uses of a digital euro. Companies, consumer groups, and public institutions are invited to apply for participation in these experiments. The applications will close on November 9th, with work expected to begin in 2027.
The ECB aims to test new payment features and examine how artificial intelligence and public services could utilize a digital euro. A decision on whether to issue a digital euro is contingent upon relevant EU legislation being passed.
