EU Inflation Hits 3.2%, Highest Rate Since 2024
The euro area's annual inflation rate rose to 3.2% in August 2026, up from 2.9% in July and 2.0% a year earlier, according to Eurostat.
The EU annual inflation rate also reached 3.2% in August, increasing from 3.0% in July and 2.4% a year earlier.
Among the EU's member states, Romania had the highest inflation rate at 6.3%, followed by Lithuania at 5.6% and Cyprus at 5.2%
