EUR/EGP Sees 70% Downside Risk as ECB's Pontes Platform Gains Traction
The European Central Bank has introduced Pontes, a new wholesale settlement platform that enables banks and financial institutions to settle tokenised securities transactions in central bank euro via blockchain integration.
Major financial institutions such as Deutsche Bank, Santander, and Société Générale have already participated in the platform, signaling institutional interest in euro-denominated blockchain settlements.
The EUR/EGP currency pair is trading within a firm intraday session, with technical indicators skewed to the downside. A 70% probability of a move lower has been projected, with the Ichimoku Kijun level at EGP58.7464 acting as immediate support.
