EUR/USD Eyes Last Week's High Amid Soft US CPI Hopes

EUR/USD is trading in a lackluster fashion despite better Eurozone data and upside surprises. According to Chris Turner at ING, high European natural gas prices and Gulf tensions are weighing on the Euro.

The tension in the Gulf is keeping European natural gas prices above €60/MWh, which may be capping the Euro's upside potential.

However, a soft US CPI print could allow EUR/USD to challenge last week's high at 1.1580, although further gains may be limited by upcoming data and the Jackson Hole symposium before the Fed's mid-September decision.
