EUR/USD Surges to Two-Month High as Dollar Index Slides
The EUR/USD currency pair rose to a two-month high of 1.1606 on Monday, surpassing its August peak at 1.1581. This gain represents an increase of 0.32% from Friday's closing price and extends the pair's upward movement for a third consecutive session.
The dollar index fell by 0.20% to 99.363, below its recent trading range floor of 99.40. This decline contributed to the euro's strength, with the dollar supplying the entire impulse behind the EUR/USD advance.
A Bloomberg gauge of the currency slipped 0.1% for a third straight day, reaching levels last seen in May. The dollar's weakness rather than euro-specific growth drove the session.
