EUR/USD Weakens Below 1.1400 Amid US Rate Hike Expectations
The EUR/USD pair has weakened below 1.1400 as expectations of a US interest rate hike have strengthened the US Dollar.
This is due in part to hawkish signals from the US Federal Reserve, with Fed Governor Michael Barr stating that 'further policy adjustments are likely to be needed' to control inflation.
The European Central Bank's Gabriel Makhlouf has also hinted at a potential rate hike if second-round inflation effects appear, but so far there is no sign of such effects.
