Euro and MLC Rise in Cuba's Informal Market Amid Dollar Stability
The Cuban informal market saw mixed behavior on Monday, August 17, as two currencies recorded gains. The euro experienced a slight increase of 2.5 pesos compared to the previous day, trading at an average value of 760 CUP (Cuban Pesos) with a buy rate of 750 and a sell rate of 770.
The MLC (the largest movement of the day), showed significant growth, reaching around 464 Cuban pesos, with a purchase rate of 441 and a selling rate of 486. This represents an increase of 18 pesos compared to the previous day's value.
In contrast, the US dollar remained unchanged from Sunday, trading at 664 CUP on the informal market, with a buying rate of 660 CUP and a selling rate of 668. However, it has declined by 8.5 pesos over the past week.
